Synopsis

Un concert de charité extraordinaire pour célébrer l'oeuvre du grand lyriciste Tim Rice. Le spectacle présente différentes chansons tirées de comédies musicales telles que The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Chess, Heathcliff, Blondel, Starmania et Aida.

THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES has previously delighted two capacity audiences at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999 and 2000. On May 5, 2002, once again thrill to the sight and sound of the huge Sing Live massed choir from aroud the British Isles, two hundred children and The City of London Philharmonic (HEY, MR PRODUCER! and SONDHEIM TONIGHT) who will, as before, accompany some very special guest stars in a musical night to remember. This year THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES will exclusively celebrate the multi-award-winning song-writing talent of Tim Rice (including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Blondel, Chess, The Lion King, Starmania, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Heathcliff, Aida).
In 2002, THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES will benefit The Lord's Taverners who give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance. Tim Rice has been closely associated with this charity for many years.
The Circle Of Live, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Superstar, A Whole New World, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Another Suitcase in Another hall, I Don't Know How To Love Him, You Must Love Me, One Night in Bangkok, Any Dream Will Do, Oh! What A Circus and I Know Him So Well are some of the songs that will be given THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES treatment, together with the first UK performance of songs from the new Tim Rice and Elton John Broadway smash hit, AIDA.
The West End's leading maestro, David Firman, will once again conduct the massed musical forces and director Hugh Wooldridge (THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER, The Ira Gerswhin Centenary Concert - WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE, THE NOEL COWARD CENTENARY CELEBRATION and SONDHEIM TONIGHT" says "The evening is a must for all who love Musicals.
